Purpose of CS-8 scrubbers

Centrifugal scrubbers CS-8 are used in systems for cleaning air from quartz sand, coke, coal.

Application of scrubbers CS-8

• as one purification stage - for exhaust ventilation systems from crushing and screening equipment (crushers, elevators, transfer units, etc.); from ground preparation equipment and knockout grids in foundries;
• as the second cleaning stage - for exhaust systems with high initial dust concentrations (suction from sandblasting chambers and cabins);
• compact location of the fan integrated into the body of the dust collector.

In order to protect the fan from wear and tear is recommended scrubber CS-8 installed before the fan (in the suction), providing water drainage from the bottom of the fan casing.

CS-8 scrubbers design features

• When installing the scrubber after the fan (on the discharge) - upwards, in a straight line, through the shaft or sideways through the volute;
• when installing the scrubber CS-8 before the fan (suction) - only through the volute.

It is recommended that the air velocity in the inlet spigot be between 15 and 23 m/sec. For normal operation of the scrubber it is necessary to have a constant water head of 2.0 m water column in front of the nozzles for which it is necessary to install an intermediate water tank with a ball valve.

The scrubber efficiency of CS-8 ranges from 86 to 99% depending on fractional composition and dust specific weight, air speed in the inlet nozzle and the diameter of the scrubber cylindrical part. The scrubber efficiency increases with the increase of the dust specific weight, with the increase of the air speed in the inlet pipe and with the reduction of the diameter of the cylindrical part of the scrubber.
