C

Cyclones-dust collectors of Giprodrevprom type Ts are designed for mechanical collection of wood waste (chips, sawdust, dust) in the pneumatic transport system of woodworking enterprises. These cyclones-dust collectors have a high coefficient of air purification. Cyclones C should not be used for fibrous and adhering dust.

Cyclone C – 730
- “C” is the name of the unit;
- “730” – the value of the inner diameter of the element in the form of a cylinder, mm.
General characteristics of class C cyclones:
- maximum working pressure, PA – 2500;
- inner diameter of the element in the form of a cylinder, mm – 250 – 1700;
- capacity, m3/h – 500 – 25 000.
The cyclone unit is a purifier of contaminated media, widely used in industry for cleaning various gas mixtures and liquids from suspended solid impurities. There are two principles of cleaning: inertial, when centrifugal force is used, or gravitational, when gravity is used. Cyclone type dust collectors for obtaining gases purified from suspensions are a very popular group among all types of dust collecting devices used in all industries.
Cyclones of class C are air cleaning equipment, which is used mainly in woodworking industries in pneumatic transport systems in order to clean the air environment in the woodworking premises from fine dust. However, this type of cyclones is absolutely not suitable for cleaning the air mass from chips in the form of small fibers, not to mention sticky dust. For other types of waste from woodworking enterprises, this class of cyclone is well suited, providing a fairly high level of cleaning. These wastes include sawdust, shavings, wood chips and fine wood dust from the grinding processes of wooden workpieces. Waste is collected directly from the polluted air by suction and passing it through the dust collector. In parallel with the purification of industrial air, there is a problem-free collection of waste, eliminating the need for regular cleaning of woodworking production facilities – workshops, workshops, etc. Air purification from dust inclusions at woodworking enterprises is a mandatory requirement of sanitary and hygienic standards.
The device of class C is able to function with high productivity when receiving a significant flow of industrial air, providing high-quality cleaning of waste, including the smallest dust. The average efficiency of such operating cleaning devices is in the range from ninety percent to ninety-seven. The variation of seven percent can be explained by the different properties of the waste received, as well as the selection of the diameters of the cyclone equipment. In the process of purification of the air inside the production premises from rather large fragments of wood, which are ordinary shavings, the level of purification will fluctuate within ninety-one to ninety-seven percent. When the air environment is freed from small wood fractions – dust generated during grinding operations, the efficiency of this device decreases.
Principal features of the C series cyclones operation
The cyclone C, designed specifically for woodworking conditions, like other “brothers”, sucks in a stream of air-waste medium through the inlet located on the side of the device. Further, under the influence of the well-known centrifugal force, the swirling stream, saturated with both sawdust and dust waste, penetrates into a special shaft located above the hopper. Centrifugal forces force the contaminated stream to deviate in the direction of the walls, beating through it, then falling down directly into the hopper. The air purified from foreign particles goes outside. The main condition for effective operation is that the jet must develop the appropriate speed.
How to install the cyclone C correctly?
For the proper functioning of the cyclone, a fan working in conjunction with it is certainly needed. There are two options for their layout, depending directly on which of the two devices will be mounted first. It is worth noting that the efficiency of work in both cases will differ slightly. But it should be noted that the installation of a fan after the cyclone is appropriate if an additional device is installed on the cyclone – a spinner. Its presence is necessary to stabilize the air flow. If the latter is unstable, the fan operation can be upset, which will definitely lead to a decrease in the overall performance of the cleaning system. The layout scheme in each case is determined both by the characteristics of the premises in which the treatment complex is mounted, and by the presence of the fan itself.
Design features
Cyclone C is made of ferrous metals. Under the order the device can be made of other material. The design of the class C cyclone consists of several parts. This is a conical, cylindrical compartment, nozzles, as well as an exhaust pipe. The waste selected from the air is collected in a special container – a hopper. Its capacity depends on the possibility of its quick cleaning from accumulated by-products. The faster the cleaning process, the smaller the volume of the hopper required for the system. As a result of long-term operation without timely removal of accumulations from the hopper, the service life of the cyclone device decreases, and its breakdown is possible.
Cyclones C are offered in both right and left versions. If you look at the device of the first version from above, the air flow is carried out strictly clockwise. And in a cyclone with a left-hand design, the air moves counterclockwise.
