CM

The universal cyclones CM were developed on the basis of the reverse cone cyclone CEC and in essence are a more advanced model of its prototype. The main distinguishing features of this unit are an extended field of application, a higher degree of purification, and the ability to work effectively in extreme conditions. The most common applications of CM cyclones are air purification during construction works and from abrasive dust.

Marking
Example: cyclone “P-CM-500U” and cyclone “Ya-CM-600U”, where:
- “C” for cyclone;
- “M” – modernized;
- “P” – the presence of a drawer;
- “I” – the presence of a metal stand;
- “600” and “500” – diameter of the cylinder cavity, mm;
- “U” – universal.
Cyclone of CM class is an improved design of cyclone of CEC class. The modernization of the prototype allowed to expand the application segment, to be effectively used in the niche previously won by such units as TsN-11 and TsN-15, OEKDM and SIOT, UC and others.
Technical characteristics
The capacity of cyclone models of CM class varies from 2200 to 15000 m3/h, the diameter of the cylindrical part is from 500 to 1000 millimeters, the working pressure is the same – 2000 Pa. Pressure losses are in the range of 500 ÷ 1800 Pa, purification efficiency is 98% ÷ 99%.
Structural advantages
Models of cyclones of class CM are produced, installed on a metal pedestal – stand or on a bracket (collection of contaminants in a conical hopper), as well as with a drawer. The design of the housings, inlets of each model of cyclones of class CM is carefully thought out. The inner part of the standard model is a combination of a cylinder and a cone expanding downwards. The vortex flow, passing through the center, rests on the baffle cone at the bottom of the casing, and not on the walls of the cylinder, which contributes to the downward movement of variously shaped particles of any density, which makes the unit universal. The negative angle of inclination of the walls prevents the deposited particles from hanging near the dust outlet gap.
For the rational organization of the discharge of part of the air trapped in the bag, to prevent the collected fine waste from being carried away or turbulence, there is a conical insert at the bottom of the unit. The cross-shaped insert of the baffle cone prevents the appearance of a vortex, the removal of contaminants is excluded.
Principle of operation
During the operation of the cyclone class CM dust particles under the influence of centrifugal force, resulting from the rotational and reciprocating motion of the gas flow, are attracted to the walls of the cyclone body, then poured into the hopper. Together with the dust, part of the air flow enters it. The gases freed from solid foreign inclusions, which got into the hopper, return to the cyclone back, bypassing the central opening of the baffle cone, generate an internal vortex of gas already cleaned of contaminants, leaving the cyclone.
Advantages
- Versatility;
- Reliability;
- Weak tendency to abrasive wear;
- High level of purification;
- Work with increased efficiency in extreme conditions;
- Cost-effectiveness;
- Durability – the service life is more than 5 times higher than that of cyclones with tapering bodies.
A characteristic difference of the CM class from other classes is the absence of restrictions on the types of dust present in the environment to be cleaned. Density, shape, dispersibility and other characteristics of substances do not have special importance – cyclones of class CM are designed for extremely effective work with dust inclusions of practically all types and sizes, except for cement dust and substances capable of sticking to the cyclone walls.
Field of application
Cyclones of CM class are in demand for purification of contaminated air flow from granular, fibrous dust, which has a tendency to coalesce and coagulate, fine waste of food, light, printing, chemical, agricultural products processing industries. These units are also widely used at plastic processing plants. Cyclones of CM class effectively work with dust containing a fairly high concentration of abrasive substances, for example, at enterprises of the construction industry, in foundries.
Features of operation
The temperature of the contaminated medium should not exceed 150 °С. Cyclones are applicable in a single-stage installation, if the efficiency of dedusting emissions is satisfactory, and in a multi-stage, as the first stage. By the level of purification, these units belong to the 4th class of dust collectors according to the requirements of STSEV 2145-80 (GOST 22270-76). The climatic design of cyclones of class CM corresponds to GOST 15150-69.
