Cyclones of NIIOGAZ class ЦН-11 are dust collectors designed for dry cleaning of dusty gas medium from non-sticky, explosive, dusty contaminants formed as a result of technological processes of drying, agglomeration, fuel combustion, firing, as well as cleaning of aspiration air in metallurgy, woodworking, chemical, oil refining, machine-building industries, in the production of materials for construction and other industries.

Design features

Cyclone of CN-11 class includes:

  • gas cleaner body;
  • inlet pipe of the gas cleaner;
  • storage hopper;
  • exhaust pipe.

Cyclones designed for working environments with temperatures not exceeding +40°С are made of carbon steel. Dust collectors, the purpose of which is limited to temperature conditions below -40°C, are made exclusively of low-alloy steels. The choice of the value of the inclination of the inlet pipe relative to the horizontal is determined by the specific properties of the solid inclusions that are captured.

As a rule, CN-11 cyclones are serially produced with right-hand rotation of the gas flow, which in most cases is convenient for the consumer. However, along with this type of cyclone, it is possible to order a dust collecting device with the left-hand direction of gas flows on an individual application. Cyclones of group combination ЦН-11 are made with rotation of gas flows of “left” or “right” types.

To obtain effective air purification, cyclones are used, which are several cyclone elements of small diameters, placed in a single body with a common supply and discharge of the gas mixture and a common storage hopper. The body of such a cyclone of class CN-11 is divided into sections that can be disconnected in case of load fluctuations acting on the unit. The expediency of using such cyclones is explained by the fact that the efficiency of these units with a small diameter is much higher than with a large one. In addition, it should be noted such a feature of the considered cyclone as smaller dimensions with similar performance.

TsN-11 cyclones are installed in a single copy, as well as arranged in groups consisting of two, four, six and eight cyclones of the same diameter, based on the specified capacity and application conditions. The chamber for already purified air of battery cyclones is designed in the form of a “snail” or is a collector. Single cyclone TsN-11 has a similar chamber only in the form of “snails”. The design of the cyclone CN-11 provides for both constant and alternate removal of the collected contaminants from the hopper.

Principles of operation

Dust capture in the cyclone of class CN-11 is carried out under the influence of centrifugal forces, which appear at the tangential supply of contaminated gases into the cyclone lining of the cyclone CN-11 with a relatively high speed. Dust particles are deposited on the walls of the cyclone, after passing the annular gap, on the way from the casing to the outlet pipe, the gas flow velocity is significantly reduced, becoming significantly less than the velocity of moving solid inclusions. Due to a sharp change in the direction of the gas flow in the central part of the dust collector by 180 degrees, under the action of inertial forces, a complete separation of solid microparticles occurs, which fall down the body, and then into the storage hopper.

The design of the cyclone TsN-11 provides both permanent and variable removal of the collected contaminants from the hopper. It should be noted that the maximum height of the dust layer accumulated in the hopper should be less than the height of the hopper by forty centimeters. Installation places of cyclone-cleaner CN-11 are feeding or suction sections of the gas cleaning system channel. The TsN-11 unit is not designed for purification of gas media containing fibrous and sticky inclusions, as well as droplet-liquid phases, where there is a possibility of condensation. Cyclones CN-11 with a diameter of less than eight hundred millimeters when installed for the purpose of cleaning the air space from abrasive dust wear out prematurely, so they are not recommended for such operations.
