Cyclone of class CN-24 is a unit of specific design, designed for effective removal of dry dust from air-dust or gas-dust mixtures. A distinctive feature of cyclones of this class is high throughput combined with a relatively low level of filtration.

Application

TsN-24 class is used in aspiration systems, mainly at the stage of preliminary rough – the first stage of purification of the gaseous phase – or when there is no need for a high-quality air purification process – at the enterprises of chemical and metallurgical industries, production of building materials, in woodworking. Also, the class CN-24 is used to convey volatile and dust-forming materials. For the functioning of the cyclone TsN-24 to be effective within this class, the working environment must be completely free of fibrous and adhering dust. Cyclone TsN-24 is strictly forbidden to use in conditions of high humidity, probability of condensation, explosive environment.

Design features and raw materials

The simple, but at the same time deeply thought-out design of cyclones of class CN-24 guarantees reliability, long-term operation of devices with consistently high performance, due to which these devices are quite common. Today there are several modifications of cyclones of class CN-24, the main differences between which are the capacity and dimensions.

The steel casing of the unit has two compartments: a cylinder and a cone. The first one has an inlet pipe inclined to the horizontal by 24 degrees and a screw cover. The inner diameter (D) of this compartment is made in variations of 400 – 3000 millimeters, which sets the size of the unit. The height of the cyclone is in connection with the size, its value is equal to 4.26 * D. The working pressure in the system is 5000 Pa.

The modification of the cyclone class CN-24, which has a dedusting chamber of the “snail” type, is in demand. Changing the direction of the inlet nozzle is associated with the direction of rotation of the contaminated flow. Popular units in the right version – the rotation of the working medium in the horizontal projection in the clockwise direction. Sometimes it is necessary to use equipment with left-hand rotation – counterclockwise.

In the case of abrasive dust as a result of the technological production process, it is recommended to weld additional steel sheets to the bottom of the casing. An additional device will save the unit from premature wear of the conical part under the influence of abrasive particles, will contribute to the stable efficiency of the unit.

Principal touches in the operation of the cyclone class CN-24

The design of the cyclone class CN-24 allows it to be mounted on both the discharge and suction sides of the fan. The flow of air-dust or gas-dust mixture enters the first nozzle with a certain speed received from the guide fan. The shape of the screw cover and the angle of inclination of the nozzle set a specific rotation of the incoming flow, resulting in centrifugal forces that affect particles with different inertia differently. The latter with a diameter of more than twenty microns, losing speed from impacts against the body, settle on its walls, and then go down the cone into the hopper. The gas is discharged up the exhaust pipe. The recommended speed of the dust-contaminated flow is 4.5 m/s at a temperature not exceeding 400 ° C. With these indicators, the cleaning efficiency is about 98 percent with a composition of fractions of 90 microns, and up to 90 percent if the size is around 25 microns. When installing the cyclone TsN-24 outside the building behind the dust fan – functioning on discharge, it is necessary to install an umbrella to prevent precipitation from entering the system. When installing the cyclone TsN-24 to the fan device – discharge operation, a coil-discharger is required to reduce the hydraulic resistance of the system in general and the load on the fan in particular.

In cyclones TsN-24 cleaning efficiency is the same, does not depend on the size, because the ratio of diameter, length of cylindrical and conical sections in this class is constant.
