Marking
Example: cyclone “OECDM K-14”, where:
- “OEKDM K” is a conventional designation of the Klaipeda OEKDM plant;
- “14” is the cyclone number indicating the diameter of the cyclone.
Advantages
- versatility;
- ability to collect small wood waste of any type and size;
- continuity;
- reliability.
Cyclones of OEKDM K class (type “Klaipeda”) are devices designed for air purification of industrial premises in the woodworking industry from crushed wood: twisted shavings, sawdust, chips, bark, wood parts, other small woodworking waste, including raw wood.
Technical characteristics
The capacity of cyclone models of OEKDM K class varies from 1900 to 28500 m3/h, the diameter of the cylindrical part is from 800 to 3000 millimeters, which corresponds to the numbers of the casing diameters No. 8 ÷ No. 30, the optimum pressure is 944 Pa. The air flow inlet speed is 14-18 m/s. Purification is 98%-99%.
Structural advantages
Cyclone of OEKDM K class is made of stainless black metal by welding of separate sheets. All seams are welded by continuous method. The cyclone is painted mainly in light colors. Inlet and outlet nozzles are connected to air ducts through flanges. Cyclones of OECDM K class can be designed with right- and left-directional rotation of the gas flow. The second option is offered on request. The cyclones under consideration are installed for suction and discharge.
Cyclones of OECDM K class are capable of performing such operation as wet planing chip evacuation. For this purpose, the upper part of the cyclone body is equipped with a precipitation collector with a glass and a drain pipe. The collector accumulates moisture collected from the upper part of the unit body. Water is discharged through the drain tube. A high degree of filtration is provided by the glass. Thus, the moisture flows inside the device are separated. This is the uniqueness of this unit, which has no analogues.
The principle of operation
The principle of operation of the OECDM K class cyclone is quite simple. The device is mounted on the outside of the walls of the room. A common pipe is laid from it, connecting the unit with the woodworking shop. From it inside the working room there are branches to the machine equipment with the connection of the exhaust cover to organize the maintenance of a particular machine. The sawdust formed during the operation of woodworking equipment is sucked through the hood, rapidly moves along the pipe branches, entering the common pipe, and from it into the cyclone from the side. The air and sawdust mixture moves further from the entrance to the cyclone to the storage hopper in a spiral. The air flow with wood particles spinning with it, hanging in the shaft directly above the hopper, beats against the walls under the action of centrifugal force. As a result, sawdust is separated and falls through the shaft into the hopper, where it is stored until timely extraction. The air, free from wood particles, is directed through the upper opening of the cyclone to the outside.
Field of application
Cyclones of OEKDM K class are equipped with aspiration and pneumatic conveying systems for chopped wood in the woodworking industry. A capacious hopper plays the role of either a place for storing wood waste of a woodworking shop during a work shift, or a warehouse of fuel raw materials for its own boiler house. Cyclones of OEKDM K class work for air purification in tandem with a chip vacuum cleaner.
Features of operation
For the proper functioning of the OEKDM K cyclone, an appropriate fan is required, because it is he who carries out the air supply. As a rule, fans are mounted in front of the cyclone. They must be able to pass the enlarged wood particles, otherwise they will fall out in front of the fan. Installation of the fan after the cyclone is advisable only if there is an air spin in the unit.
Cyclones of OEKDM K class can be mounted in cleaning batteries, which include an even number of units – from 1 to 4 pairs. In this case, it is not easy to increase the air intake capacity, but the level of its purification, especially from fine particles, increases significantly.
