Marking of dust collector of PVM class

«PVM – 10SA», «PVM – 10kb», «PVM – 10B», «PVM – 10СKMA», where:

  • «P» – dust collector;
  • «V» – ventilation;
  • «M» – wet;
  • «10» – number of the dust collector corresponding to the capacity of 10000 m3/h;
  • «SA» – availability of a drainage system for sludge removal;
  • «КБ» – availability of a scraper mechanism for sludge removal;
  • «B» – presence of side sludge drain pockets;
  • «KMA» – capture of zinc and aluminum dust, availability of a scraper mechanism for sludge removal.

PVM DUST COLLECTORS

Dust collectors of PVM class are units for purification of air removed by ventilation exhaust systems from all dust particles of medium and fine fractions, including inflammable, explosive, polymer, fibrous.

Benefits

  • versatility;
  • high efficiency;
  • simple structure.

Structural advantages

Metal casing of dust collectors of PVM class consists of lower and upper zones – sections. In the first partially filled with water two partitions form a channel. Dust collectors are equipped with sensors – level switches. Their task is to make an emergency stop of the fan when the water level drops below the limit value. Dust collector capacity of PVM class models is ranging from 3000 to 40000 m3/h, dust collector length – 1315 ÷ 4385 millimeters, dust collector height – 3185 ÷ 5010 millimeters. Efficiency of dusty air purification reaches 99%.

Principle of operation

The clogged air, thanks to the vacuum created by the fan, enters the unit bypassing the inlet opening. Then, at high velocity, air flows rapidly through the slotted opening between the underside of the baffle and the surface of the water, taking it behind it. The latter is directed by the drip trap to drain into the outermost compartments. The air freed from foreign particles rushes through the drift eliminators and is removed by the fan to the outside. Removal of the accumulated sludge is carried out in the “CA” series by means of drain through a gate valve, in the “KB” and “KMA” series – by means of a scraper mechanism, in the “B” series – by means of drain into a pocket.

Area of application

In the premises of production categories B and D, where explosive dust of animal and plant origin is removed from workplaces through local exhaust, recirculation of air already cleaned in the dust collector of class PVM is allowed. The rooms where the air contains substances of 1 ÷ 3 hazard classes (GOST 12.1.005 – 88) excluding the possibility of air recirculation and where the air contains viruses, fungi, bacteria and unpleasant odors are an exception.

Features of operation

Dust collectors of PVM class should not be used to collect dust contaminants that can form strong conglomerates when interacting with water (cementation, crystallization, coagulation). If the initial concentration of dust in the air is more than 10 g/m3, the dust collector of PVM class is recommended to be used as the second stage after the dry standard dust collector in order to reduce both the amount of sludge and water consumption.
