RISI

RISI-10
RISI cyclones
The RISI cyclone is capable of cleaning air mixtures, in the cleaning of which any other similar equipment will not be effective. RISI cyclones are used for air purification from sticky dust, in woodworking, in light industry and other manufacturing industries. They are used to clean the air from impurities in the form of: building materials, polishing dust, dust with a fibrous structure, and in many other similar areas.

Marking

Example: cyclone “RISI-9”, where:

  • “RISI” is a development of the Rostov Civil Engineering Institute;
  • “9” is the cyclone diameter number.

It is possible to complete the cyclone of RISI class with components:

  • snail – for the rational transition of the purified air flow from vertical to horizontal and reducing energy consumption;
  • cone – transition of the cyclone – transition pipe;
  • transition pipe – cone – tank connection;
  • tank – waste accumulator for short-term storage of separated dust.

Cyclones of RISI class are designed for air purification in aspiration systems from all types of sticky, fibrous, polishing dust, as well as waste coatings of paints and varnishes in the absence of condensed liquid vapor products on the surfaces inside the cyclones.

Structural advantages

Cyclones of RISI class are made of carbon and stainless steel in left and right versions. In the first version, the rotation of the flow in the unit is counterclockwise when viewed from the location of the exhaust pipe, in the second – vice versa.

The principle of operation

The contaminated air flow enters the cyclone, rotates, and centrifugal forces arise. Under their influence, foreign solid particles are directed to the walls of the unit. The helically circulating high-speed air flow contributes to the ingress of foreign inclusions into the cone-coagulator. Here, individual dust particles, adhering to each other, turn into dispersed coagulated dust, which is then sent to the storage hopper through a cone expanding downwards. After cleaning, the gas is discharged from the cyclone of RISI class from the upper compartment.

Advantages

The main advantage of cyclones of RISI class over cyclones of other classes is the presence of an additional component – a coagulator cone, due to which the level of purification from fibrous substances is achieved 87%-98%.

Field of application

Cyclones of the RISI class are in demand for collecting dust of meal, dust resulting from the processing of cotton seeds at oil and fat mills, as well as at other enterprises, for example, for cleaning the air from dust generated during wood processing.

Features of operation

Cyclones of RISI class are made in climatic design UHL when used in placement categories 1 ÷ 4 according to the requirements of GOST 15150-69. Cyclones of RISI class can be used in aspiration systems of productions belonging to categories B, C, D and E according to SNiP 2.09.02-85 on explosion, explosive and fire hazard. Seismicity of the region where the cyclone is used is not regulated.

During installation, maintenance of the cyclone unit, close attention should be paid to the tightness of the supply/exhaust air duct system and the quality of the internal surfaces in direct contact with the purified air. During the operation of cyclones of RISI class it is necessary to free the hopper from accumulated dust in time. The maximum filling of the hopper is 70-80%. Safety measures must be strictly observed to prevent burn injuries in contact with hot surfaces of the cyclone or hot gases, dust. To avoid this type of injury, the surface of the unit must be carefully insulated. Reaching the temperature of the outer insulating surface above + 45 ° C is not allowed. It is preferable to install these cyclones in front of the fan, not after it, as in this case the conditions of the fan functioning are improved.
