Regarding the cyclone CK, the cyclone CM has a distinctive feature: it is a modification in the design of the inner baffle cone, which is attached to the wall of the cylindrical part of the dust-collecting hopper by means of elongated feet. Due to this specific feature, the dust outlet hole between the base of the baffle cone and the wall of the housing remains free. The CM dust collector is distinguished by another technical nuance: the attachment of the legs to the brackets, which is made with a specially provided small backlash. This leads to insignificant vibrations of the baffle cone, formed under the influence of ascending air flows and, as a consequence, to mechanical shaking of plugs and balls, formed during dust separation. Prolonged operation of the CM cyclones provides for settling of fibrous dust on the legs of the cross cone, therefore it is very important to carry out regular cleaning, which takes place through the hatches of the dust collector with the hopper. The frequency of inspection of the unit and unloading of accumulated masses depends on the cyclone model and, accordingly, the size of the accumulation hopper.

The development engineers have provided three options of the cyclone installation, the choice of the most optimal one depends on the maximum permissible concentration in the air emitted into the atmosphere and on the various nuances of the design requirements. Cyclone installation with a storage hopper and with a sluice feeder guarantees a high degree of purification: from 96 to 98%, moreover, it is characterized by simple maintenance and installation. Only for low-dispersed heavy dusts one should install the cyclone directly on the dust collector, because this type of installation is not structurally capable of high level of cleaning the air mass from the polluting dust particles.

Operation of cyclones with centrifugal force, which develops during reciprocating motion of gas flows, is achieved. The optimum organization of movements of dusty flows is provided by design of the inlet assembly, which creates the most optimal conditions for depositing dust on the walls of the units. The dust particles are driven to the cyclone walls under the centrifugal force, and then partly with the gases get into the hopper. The gases, released from dust particles, are returned to the cyclone through the central opening of the baffle cone, generating the internal vortex of purified gas, which leaves the dust collector.

The design of inlets and casings of each cyclone model is also developed very thoroughly and thought-out to the smallest details. The basic model has a short cylindrical and a conical part extending to the bottom. Thanks to such optimal construction the cyclones of type CM are little exposed to abrasive particles and subsequent wear, as the velocity of the air flow in the inlet nozzle and, especially, in the lower part of the casing do not have high values. Under such conditions there is no wall abrasion even when highly abrasive dusts are deposited. A great advantage of the CM cyclones is that there is no rigid restriction of dust properties - shape, size and density of particles polluting the air mass are practically of no importance. This gives the properties of versatility to the dust collector and is explained by the fact that the central vortex, which rests not on the walls of the housing itself, but on the baffle cone mounted in the lower part of the housing, does not prevent the dust layer consisting of particles of any shape and density from moving down. These are not all the advantages of this unit: Due to the negative tilt angle of the housing walls, deposited particles do not hang around the dust outlet gap. A cross-shaped insert, additionally installed in the cyclone baffle cone, prevents dust particles from being carried away by the upward whirlwind. It prevents from creation of the vortex, so that dust outflow becomes practically impossible. CM cyclones have rather low sensitivity to suction of air masses through the hopper. This fact is explained by the fact that the air flows, penetrating through the looseness in the hopper, through the central hole in the baffle cone pass into the cyclone, not preventing the movement of dust accumulations into the hopper.
