Purpose of cyclones COL-9

Cyclones COL-9 are designed for purification of the dusty air coming from aspiration and pneumatic networks from coarse dust with particle size over 126 µ: sawdust, weeds, grain dust and other impurities. The efficiency of coarse grain dust collection is 95-98%.

Process of air purification with the cyclone COL-9

• Air inflow with grain dust, debris, sawdust into the cyclone
• The centrifugal force causes the solid particles to collide with the walls and spiral down toward the hopper
• Purified air leaves the cyclone through the opening on top of the cyclone
• Grain dust and other debris accumulates in the hopper.

Cyclone design COL-9

The standard ventilating cyclone COL-9 is made of black metal. Seams are welded by continuous method. Inlet and outlet spigots are connected to the air duct through flanges and adapters. Cyclone in the middle and outside is well coated with primer and packed in film. Cyclones are available in right-hand and left-hand versions, with an umbrella or with a volute. Also, the cyclone can be equipped with a hopper.

The peculiarity of the COL cyclones design is the presence of an anti-sucking cone device, which serves to regulate the pressure value in the cyclone inlet spigot of the cyclone operating at the discharge.

Assembly of cyclones COL-9

Cyclone COL is used in conjunction with a fan. There are two variants of their placement:

• Mounting the cyclone in front of the fan
• Mounting the cyclone after the fan

For cleaning from grain dust both combinations are equivalent and are determined from the conditions of placement at the site. It is reasonable to put a dust fan before the cyclone. After the cyclone it is possible to install the fan only if the cyclone is equipped with the accelerator, which is required for normalization of the air flow.
