Cyclone SIOT-M is used for coarse and medium purification of gas-air media from categories of dry dust, which do not contain a large percentage of sticky and abrasive substances. Mainly these units are used in the same areas as their predecessor (cyclone SIOT) for dry cleaning of gas-air mixtures, which are emitted during technological processes: drying, roasting, fuel combustion, agglomeration, etc. They are also effectively used in aspiration air purification in such industrial branches as: treatment of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering and oil field, power engineering and building materials, as well as in chemical industry and in many other branches, where the application of these units can be justified. However, as well as their predecessor, cyclones SIOT-M cannot be used in conditions of explosive environments, unless they have been specially equipped for that. Also, these units are not recommended for purification of air masses from dusts, which have a high percentage of sticky and abrasive substances. Cyclone washers SIOT-M are close to the universal cyclones CN-15 in their efficiency. Cyclone resistance ranges from 650-1200 Pa. The limiting pressure is 4800 Pa. Gas velocity in the air duct is within - 15-18 m/s. According to the series, cyclone hoppers can be completed with a slide gate or a shutter (blinker).

Advantages of Cyclone SІOT-M-2

The main difference of the upgraded models from the old model is even higher efficiency of air purification, which these units can provide. Cyclones SIOT-M are designated as units of increased efficiency. Unlike the old version, three more cyclone diameters have been added to the series: 8, 9 and 10. It became possible due to the fact that in the upgraded models the air purification quality received a higher coefficient than in the old model, which allowed expanding their model range to ten. Modernization did not pass by the other components of the system as well. For example, a number of changes were made to the design of the hopper, which greatly simplified the manufacturing process of the unit and its operation. The design of the unwinder was also simplified, and instead of a screw cap it was made in the form of a snail. Due to the fact that the resistance coefficient in the cyclone, whose distributor is made in the form of a flat shield, is rather high, it was decided not to include it in the design of the upgraded models. Also the diameter of the dust outlet was increased and the thickness of the casing was increased from 2 mm to 3 mm, and its height was reduced by actually 30 percent.

The filtered dust collects and settles in the hopper, therefore it is necessary to ensure its regular cleaning. The dust from the collection hopper must be discharged according to the desired cleaning frequency. Do not allow dust to accumulate beyond the allowable level; otherwise, the hopper could become clogged, which will affect the efficiency of the entire system and cause a decline in system performance. In order to prevent air inflow and deterioration of purification performance, the hopper is hermetically welded to the cyclone body. This design gives this unit a fairly high performance and purification rate, which ranges from 83 to 90%. The degree of purification depends on the type of dust, fan, cyclone brand, thickness of air ducts, etc. The choice of a particular size is mainly influenced by the desired capacity of the system, taking into account the recommended velocities in the circular section of the inlet pipe, the pressure drop in the cyclone and the available fan head, according to the charts. At flow velocities less than 15 m/s, the cleaning efficiency is reduced. When calculating the aspiration system, you should pay attention to the following elements:

• Length and width of umbrella at air inlet;
• The velocity of the gas in the duct;
• The total length of the system;
• Lift Height;
• Cyclone and fan brand (pressure and flow capacity).
